The White Horse Project has a great team of volunteers whithout whom, our work with young people would not be possible. We want to ‘shine-a-light’, pun intended, on our fantastic volunteers and showcase the vast variety of work they are involved with, as well as get to know them a little. If you think volunteering at The Boilerhouse sounds fun or you would like to find out how to get involved, please contact us

Name: Thomas Wise

Role at The Boilerhouse: Friday Quiz Maker, Drum Workshop Helper and Cafe Shift Man.

Describe yourself in 5 words: Helpful, Understanding, Musical, funny and shy.

Favourite thing about The Boilerhouse: I enjoy doing all the volunteering and then having some of the baking/cooking that the group has made. It’s a nice way to end the evening.

Favourite colour: Blue or maybe Claret (because Burnley is the best).

Favourite film: I don’t enjoy watching many movies however if Apollo 13 is ever on I stop whatever I am doing and watch.

Favourite song: Wild in the Streets by Bon Jovi.

Sweets or Chocolate: Definetly Chocolate.

Why do you volunteer at the Boilerhouse: I originally started volunteering for my DofE in November 2017 but once I had finished I decided to carry on because I enjoyed it. It also feels rewarding to help other people.

What do you like to do in your spare time: In my spare time I love to play rock songs Piano, guitar and drums almost all the time. Other than that I am like any other teenager watching YouTube. I do love music though, I love listening to and learning all Bon Jovi, The Killers, Queen and The Black Crowes constantly.
